Omorodion had already gone for his medicals in London and was expected to pen a seven year deal with Chelsea with the option of extending the deal for another year.
Major Setback in Chelsea’s Transfer Plans
The inability to sign Omorodion is a major loss to Chelsea, who went out in search of a striker this summer.

The young forward had performed well during his loan stint at Deportivo Alaves the previous season where he scored nine goals and Deportivo Alaves finished at the 10th position in La Liga.
Chelsea had previously seen a €32.5 million bid for Omorodion rejected in June, but the club did not give up on signing the striker until the recent collapse.
Joao Felix in Talks for Chelsea Return

Therefore, due to the failed Omorodion deal with Atletico Madrid, Chelsea has quickly moved sights to another Atletico Madrid player, Joao Felix.
Reports from Fabrizio Romano have emerged that Highly rated attacker, Joao Felix is in discussion for a loan return to Chelsea.
There have been reported developments on ongoing negotiations between Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, and Felix’s agent, Jorge Mendes who is presently in London.
However, there are continuous discussion between Chelsea and Napoli concerning possible transfers of Romelu Lukaku and Victor Osimhen.
Chelsea’s transfer window has been very dramatic and the failure of the Omorodion deal just added another twist to Chelsea’s transfer business this summer who recently announced the signing of Pedro Neto from Wolves as reported by Sportsbuddy.
The club’s expectation now is to secure the services of Joao Felix as they continue to rebuild their team for the upcoming season.
