Nigeria Women Basketball Team head coach, Rena Wakama has taken the team to a record high at Paris 2024 Olympics.
Being the first woman to take up the coaching role of the Nigerian women basketball team popularly called the ‘D’Tigress’, Wakama has been instrumental in getting the team to its first quarter final in Olympic history as reported by Sportsbuddy.

D’Tigress’ Road to the Quarter-Finals
The qualification for the quarter-finals was achieved after impressive 79-70 win against Canada at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Lille, France.

This decisive win drew the curtain on what was a very intense group stage where the team showed a lot of resolve and character.
The D’Tigress eventually bowed out of the Tournament after losing to strong tournament favourites USA.
With Wakama’s leadership, the team recovered from a hard loss to France following their initial win against Australia.
