Subsequently, Super Eagles star Victor Boniface has reacted to a one-match ban and a €25,000 fine he got for his unsportsmanlike behavior during Bayer Leverkusen’s previous Super Cup game against VfB Stuttgart.
DFB’s Ruling and Boniface’s Response

The German Football Association (DFB) revealed the sanction on Wednesday following probes that accused Boniface of making an obscene gesture towards Stuttgart players after the game as reported by Sportsbuddy.
However, the DFB relied on the word from the Stuttgart players and there were no TV footage or any proof.
To the sanctions, Boniface hilariously posted about the fine as a message to his contacts not to seek financial assistance from him for the next three months following the fact that the fine stands at about 44 million naira.

He wrote via his social media handle, “If you bill me for the next three months I fit block you. Let’s all be guided. ”
The Incident and It’s Aftermath
The incident occurred after Stuttgart players claimed to have seen Boniface giving them a finger again in celebrations.
While the referee did not see the events, the accusations were severe enough to provoke the investigation of the DFB.

Since both parties to the case namely Boniface and Bayer Leverkusen have accepted the ruling it becomes final and legally binding.
This becomes an eventful experience for Boniface, who has been recently awarded the Bundesliga Rookie of the Year for the season 2023-2024.
However, with a cheerful mood, the striker tried to downplay the implications of the fine on his social life using jokes.
