Chelsea attacker Nicolas Jackson has hit out at John Obi Mikel after the club legend criticised his performance in last weekend’s league opener against Manchester City.
Speaking after the match, Mikel was critical of Jackson’s performance. The former midfielder praised Chelsea’s overall play but pointed out their failure to capitalise on scoring opportunities.
“Even though he was offside, he dribbled one or two players, and the way he shot the ball,” Mikel said, referring to a situation where Jackson failed to make the most of his chance.
”You need a striker who knows how to hit the ball in the back of the net and that is what we don’t have. We need a top striker,” he added.
Nicolas Jackson’s response
Jackson has now responded to Mikel Obi, following an impressive performance in Chelsea’s 6-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the second match of the season.
The 22-year-old Senegalese striker opened the scoring for Chelsea in the fifth minute before setting up Cole Palmer for the Blues’ second goal.
”Shut your mouth don’t talk shit, we are killing ourselves for Africa,” Jackson wrote on his Instagram account.
Jackson will be looking to continue with his newly found form when Chelsea welcome Crystal Palace next weekend.
