Chelsea youth left winger Noni Madueke has also declared his confidence in Maresca’s tough tackling discipline for players of the youth team.
A ruthless operator when it comes to decision-making, Maresca has been busy in the Stamford Bridge reshuffle, benching established English stars such as Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, and Trevoh Chalobah from the first team.
Madueke’s Response to Enzo Marescas’ Criticism
During the match against Servette in the second leg of the Europa Conference League play-off, Madueke was able to score his first goal of the season; however, he was immediately reminded by Enzo Maresca that he needs to stay as grounded and productive as they come in training.
The winger later came back to score three goals in a match against the Wolverhampton Wanderers; however, Maresca still seemed to look at the negative side of the young player, pointing at a free-kick taken by the latter before halftime as reported earlier by Sportsbuddy.
Embracing Tough Love for Growth
Despite the tough love, Madueke, who has been rewarded with his first senior England call-up, views Maresca’s approach as a positive force in his development.
“He wants to push me and make sure I get the best out of myself in every single training session,” Madueke said, as quoted by Metro Sports.
Madueke is now in great form and has scored four goals in as many games as possible to emphasise his reliability.
