Manchester City striker Erling Haaland left a heartfelt post on social media after as he mourns the death of his uncle, who is his father’s closest pal.
Eggja acted as Alf-inge’s best man during his wedding and was not only a close friend but also a frequent aid to the Haalands.

He ensured Erling could focus on his football, which made it easier for the striker to settle with life in Dortmund, Salzburg, and Manchester.

The Manchester City star shared a photo of himself holding the late Eggja’s hand while he was in the hospital on his his Instagram account with a caption that read,
“You are a legend, Ivar.
“Words cannot describe how much you meant to me! Words cannot describe how much you will be missed!
“I don’t give a s**t! I don’t give a s**! That’s exactly what I’m going to do. Thank you for everything, you madman. We will see each other again. Rest in peace, Ivar.”
Meanwhile, Haaland is reportedly on the verge of signing a new contract with Manchester City after an outstanding season. The club is offering him a deal that would make him the highest-paid player in the Premier League.
