Speaking to the German news outlet Bild, Leverkusen provided a reassuring update on their player’s condition.
“He is fine. Boniface only had two minor injuries to his hand,” the club said.
The accident came just a day after Boniface’s heroic performance in Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.
Victor Boniface played a key role in the win, scoring the decisive goal 18 minutes from full time. This goal was especially significant as he had earlier missed a penalty but redeemed himself with the match-winner.
