The Nigerian striker, who has been in excellent form this season, was on his way to the airport to pick up some friends when the unfortunate incident occurred.

Speaking to the German news outlet Bild, Leverkusen provided a reassuring update on their player’s condition.
“He is fine. Boniface only had two minor injuries to his hand,” the club said.
The accident came just a day after Boniface’s heroic performance in Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.
Victor Boniface played a key role in the win, scoring the decisive goal 18 minutes from full time. This goal was especially significant as he had earlier missed a penalty but redeemed himself with the match-winner.
