Victor Osimhen continued his stellar form in Galatasaray’s 3-2 victory over Samsunspor on Sunday, netting twice and breaking two Turkish Super Lig records.
The Nigerian striker, on loan from Napoli after stalled moves to Chelsea and Al-Ahli, opened the scoring just three minutes into the match with a powerful header off a Lucas Torreira cross.
Record-Breaking Start in Turkish Super Lig
Osimhen’s consistency in front of goal has been remarkable. With his goals and assists spanning six consecutive games, he became the first player to either score or assist in each of his first six Super Lig appearances since Opta began tracking this stat in 2014-2015.
His streak includes assists against Rizespor and Fenerbahce, as well as goals in four consecutive games against Kasımpaşa, Antalyaspor, Beşiktaş, and Samsunspor.

Galatasaray Secure Victory Despite Late Drama
After Samsunspor equalized through an Olivier Ntcham penalty early in the second half, Osimhen restored Galatasaray’s lead with another commanding header.
Michy Batshuayi then extended the lead, but a stoppage-time penalty converted by Youssef Ait Bennasser added late tension. Galatasaray held on for the win, taking all three points.
British sports analytics company Opta also noted that Osimhen recorded seven headers in the match—the most in a Super Lig game since 2014-2015.
His aerial prowess has clearly made him a key figure for the Turkish champions, adding both power and precision to their attack.
