Manchester United are reportedly considering a swap deal involving summer signing Joshua Zirkzee to bring Napoli’s Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen to Old Trafford during the January transfer window.

Zirkzee, who joined United from Bologna, has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League, leading to concerns within the club about his ability to establish himself as a regular starter.

A return to Italy has been rumored, as doubts about his long-term fit grow.

This situation has prompted United to reignite their interest in Osimhen, a player they previously targeted under Erik ten Hag but could not afford at the time.

Currently on loan at Galatasaray, Osimhen has been in fine form, netting eight goals in 11 appearances.

His loan deal reportedly includes a break clause that allows him to join one of ten top European clubs, though it is unclear if United are on that list.

According to Area Napoli, United are proposing a deal valued at £69 million, combining £33.2 million in cash with Zirkzee’s transfer.

Such a move would bolster United’s attacking options while resolving Zirkzee’s challenges.

Meanwhile, United are also linked with Malik Tillman, the PSV Eindhoven attacking midfielder who has impressed with eight goals and four assists in 19 Eredivisie games.

While Tillman favors a Premier League move, United face competition from Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa. PSV reportedly value Tillman at £33 million.

Osimhen’s Credentials

Osimhen, currently on loan from Napoli, has a proven track record and was initially targeted by United before his move to Galatasaray.

As Sports Buddy previously reported, United also showed interest in Nigerian forward Victor Boniface, but Bayer Leverkusen is set to secure Boniface with a new deal, leaving Osimhen as the more viable option.
