Samuel Chukwueze gave fans a glimpse of his best form as AC Milan crushed Perth Glory 9 goals to 0 in a pre-season game on Thursday in Australia.
The Nigerian winger scored Milan’s fifth goal in the first half. He made a fast run behind the defence, received a fine pass and finished with power. It was a confident strike that stood out in a match full of goals.
Milan Start Strong Under Allegri
New boss Massimiliano Allegri watched his team dominate from start to finish at HBF Park. Filippo Terracciano opened the scoring early, before Noah Okafor added two more goals. Christian Comotto scored from the spot just before Chukwueze found the net.
In the second half, Rafael Leão added a brace, while Samuele Ricci and Yunus Musah also scored.
Chukwueze has not played much in recent months and has been linked with Fulham and Real Betis. But his goal and overall performance may change things at Milan. He looked sharp and confident playing higher up the pitch.
With the Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers ahead, this strong display may also help his chances with the Nigerian national team.
