Inter Milan have told Atalanta to make a decision by Friday on their offer for Nigeria forward Ademola Lookman.
Talks between the two clubs have dragged on for weeks, but Inter now want a clear response or they will walk away from the deal.
According to reports in Italy, the Nerazzurri are growing tired of the slow progress. Even though Lookman has already said yes to joining Inter, Atalanta are not in a hurry to agree.
Inter Raise Offer, Atalanta Still Silent
Atalanta turned down Inter’s first offer of 40 million euros. They are asking for 50 million instead.
To try and meet in the middle, Inter came back with a new offer this week. This time, they are ready to pay 45 million euros and want to sign Lookman on a permanent deal right away.
They dropped their earlier plan for a loan with a future purchase. This shows how serious Inter are about getting the 27-year-old winger, who has impressed in Serie A with his pace, goals, and assists.
But Atalanta have still not replied to the new bid. This has frustrated Inter, who finished second in Serie A last season and want to complete their summer business quickly.
Plan B Already in Motion
If Atalanta do not answer by Friday, Inter will start looking elsewhere. One of their backup targets is Nico Gonzalez, the Argentine winger who plays for Fiorentina.
