Three Valencia fans were found guilty of racism at a football match in Spain after La Liga filed a complaint. They were sentenced to eight months in jail.

A three-quarter reduction in the original 12-month sentence was the outcome of an agreement reached during the preliminary investigation phase.

They were also prohibited from entering any football stadium where La Liga or Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) matches are held for a period of three years, which was eventually shortened to two years.

The three Valencia supporters’ conviction is the first occasion in Spanish history that a fan has been sentenced, according to Sky Sports News.
