According to reports from the BBC Real Madrid’s 20-year-old midfielder, Jude Bellingham, is set to miss the Champions League last-16 first leg against RB Leipzig after sustaining a sprained ankle.

Bellingham, who scored two goals in Saturday’s 4-0 La Liga victory over Girona, was forced off during the match. Real Madrid has not specified a timeline for his return, emphasizing that his recovery will be closely monitored.

Bellingham’s impressive performance against Girona brought his tally to 20 goals in 31 games across all competitions since his summer transfer from Borussia Dortmund. Real Madrid, under the management of Carlo Ancelotti, secured a five-point lead at the top of the La Liga table with goals from Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo at the Bernabeu. Following the Champions League tie with Leipzig, Real faces upcoming La Liga fixtures against Rayo Vallecano and Sevilla before the end of February, and the return leg against Leipzig is scheduled for March 6th. England also has friendlies against Brazil and Belgium at the end of the next month.
