Barcelona wants to sort out the future of Nico Williams before their La Liga fixture against his current side Athletic Club on August 24.

The Catalan club has been following the winger for several months, especially after a great performance in Euro 2024 for the Spanish squad.
First, Barcelona intended to sign Williams to the team before pursuing Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig.
But discussions with Athletic Club over Williams did not get far, leaving Barça instead to focus on Olmo.
However, Barcelona is still keen on signing Williams and is said to have given itself two weeks to complete the transfer.
According to Mundo Deportivo, If Williams is still an Athletic Club player when they meet on August 24, the Catalan club will not pursue the player’s signing any further in this transfer window.

Barcelona has experienced some financial problems the past few years but thinks they are capable of paying Williams’ €60 million release fee.
The winger knows the wages being offered but has not signified whether he is willing to entertain Barcelona’s offer.
Should they fail to acquire Williams, Barcelona will look for other targets before August 30 when the transfer window shuts.
