The heartbroken 32-year-old shared this emotional photo on his Instagram.

His plans for the 2024 Olympics were completely derailed when he was hospitalized last Sunday due to severe discomfort in his side.

And now Tamberi has undergone re-evaluation by the paramedics again after suffering from acute renal colic.

The Italy star has promised to “be there” for the high-jump final, which begins tonight at 1800 BST, despite the unusual circumstances.

This indicates that he left the hospital three hours before the Stade de France event started.

He was brought in for the first time last Sunday

This came after he made a post on Instagram that read, “It’s all over. Last night at 5am I woke up because of the same excruciating pain as a few days ago.

“Five hours have passed and the pain still hasn’t gone away. I’m speechless, I’m truly sorry to death.

“Will I still go on the platform tonight? Yes, but I really don’t know how I’ll be able to jump in these conditions.”

He verified that renal colic—which happens when a kidney stone obstructs the tube that connects the kidneys to the bladder—was the source of the discomfort.

Meanwhile, Sports Buddy reported in other news that Serbian swimmer Lazar Dukic, tragically passed away during a swimming competition at the 2024 CrossFit Games in Texas.
