Barcelona Midfielder Frenkie De Jong has come out to address situations surrounding his future at the club.
According to Fabrizio Romano on X, De Jong, addressing recent reports about plans to leave Barcelona said, “There are lot of fake news on the press. Some of you should feel ashamed, this has to stop.
“I’m very happy at Barça, I hope to stay here for many years”.
The midfielder also added, “You are talking a lot about my contract, my situation in the team, and my salary. A lot of smoke, a lot of lies.
“Reports of €40m salary is very far from what I really earn” as also reported by Fabrizio Romano on X.
De Jong signed for the Catalan giants in January of 2019, on a five year contract, which took effect from July 2019. Since his debut, the 26-years-old has gone on to feature for the club 207 times, being a key player in their title winning campaigns.
