Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel has criticized refeeree Michael Oliver folllowing his controversial officiating in the heated Premier League meeting between Manchester City and Arsenal on Sunday.

 

The legendary goalkeeper was with the media at the Ethiad during the game and reacted to the performance of the officiating team at full-time of the 2-2 draw.

 

There were a lot of controversies in the match, which started with a cheap yellow card to Leandro Trossard mid-way through the first-half, before the Belgian was sent off in the final moments of the opening half in the Ethiad.

 

There were a lot of instances where Michael Oliver failed to do justice for the visitors, most especially in the final moments of the game, when Erling Haaland was guilty of several offenses but wasn’t booked.

Arsenal received one red and seven yellow cards in the match, including one for teenager Myles Lewis-Skelly before coming onto the pitch, solely for communicating his manager’s instructions to goalkeeper David Raya.

 

Arsenal now has two red cards after five Premier League games, as many as in the entirety of last season in the competition.
