Victor Osimhen has opened up on situations surrounding his requested exit after an injury scare during Galatasaray’s 3-3 draw with Kasimpasa at Rams Park on Saturday evening.
The Turkish champions gave up a three-goal advantage after replacing their star summer acquisition from Napoli, putting an end to their perfect start in the league.
Victor Osimhen brace amid injury scare

After assisting in three straight games, Osimhen scored his first goal in Galatasaray colors after Abdülkerim Bardakcı’s excellent cross in the 20th minute.
And after eight minutes, the Super Eagles forward skillfully controlled Sara’s pass before firing a shot into the goal to complete his brace.
Osimhen signaled to be substituted just before halftime because of what appeared to be an injury, while Dries Mertens took his place at the start of the second half.
Osimhen on why he signaled for substitution

However, the Nigerian international has now clarified that his injury is not serious, contrary to initial reports. He has also stated that he requested to be substituted since he was not playing at his best after taking a knock.
“I do not have a serious injury. I felt a little discomfort. I thought I should tell my coach,” Osimhen said, via Galatasaray’s official website.
“If I reduced the team, it would be bad. I did not want my other teammates’ performance to decrease. I told Mauro and the coach. That is why I left the game,” he added.
With this reassuring statement, Osimhen could be back in action for Galatasaray next week as he looks to continue with his impressive form, having contributed to five goals in his first four games for the club.
