Kelechi Iheanacho’s future at Sevilla is in jeopardy as the club reportedly eyes Inter Milan striker Marko Arnautovic during the January transfer window.

According to Spanish newspaper La Colina de Nervión, via FCInter1908, Sevilla has initiated contact with Arnautovic’s representatives.

The 35-year-old Austrian, currently in his second stint at Inter, joined from Bologna in the summer of 2023.

While he saw significant game time last season, Arnautovic has struggled for minutes this term, falling further down the pecking order.

Iheanacho, who arrived at Sevilla last summer alongside injured compatriot Chidera Ejuke, has yet to make his mark.

The 27-year-old Nigerian striker has made seven La Liga appearances this season without scoring, raising concerns about his form.

The potential arrival of Arnautovic could further limit Iheanacho’s opportunities, putting his place in the squad at risk.

The Spanish side views Arnautovic as a valuable addition to their attack. With Joaquín Correa in form, Inter could be open to selling the Austrian, who might welcome a move for more playing time.

Sevilla’s pursuit of Arnautovic signals their intent to bolster their striking options, which could spell trouble for Iheanacho’s standing at the club.

Without an upturn in form, the Nigerian striker may face an uncertain future in Andalusia.
