Manchester United are reportedly nearing a swap deal that could see them secure a new striker before finalizing their pursuit of Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.

The Red Devils, managed by Ruben Amorim, are desperate to address their goal-scoring woes after a lackluster 2024/25 Premier League campaign, where they finished 15th with a negative goal difference.

Sources indicate that Juventus have offered Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic in a swap deal involving United’s out-of-favor winger Jadon Sancho, who has struggled to secure a regular spot at Old Trafford.

Vlahovic, with 18 Serie A goals last season, is seen as a prime candidate to replace Rasmus Hojlund, whose 10 goals in 52 appearances have underwhelmed.

The 25-year-old’s physicality and clinical finishing align perfectly with Amorim’s vision for a dynamic, goal-hungry forward line. Meanwhile, Sancho’s potential move to Turin could see him reunite with former United target Douglas Luiz, with Juventus also offering Timothy Weah as an alternative swap option.

The timing of this deal is critical, as United remain locked in negotiations with Brentford for Mbeumo, with two bids—up to £62.5m—already rejected.

Brentford’s £65m valuation and insistence on a substantial upfront payment have delayed progress, but United are confident of securing the Cameroon international before their US pre-season tour on July 26.

Landing Vlahovic first could provide Amorim with a proven No. 9, allowing Mbeumo to slot into a versatile attacking role.

With Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Antony also linked with exits, this swap deal could mark a pivotal moment in United’s squad shake-up.
