Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Davido playfully taunted Canadian rapper Drake after his loss of $615,000, equivalent to ₦950 million in a bet.
The fight between Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou began in the early hours in Saudi Arabia due to a delayed start. Despite Ngannou’s reputation for aggression in MMA, he adopted a more cautious approach early on, relying on his jab.

However, Joshua capitalized on a moment when Ngannou switched stances, landing a straight right hand that knocked the Cameroonian to the canvas for the first time in his career. Joshua maintained control, repeatedly attacking Ngannou until he was forced to the ground again with a powerful right hand. The match concluded just two minutes and 38 seconds into the second round, with Joshua delivering a decisive knockout blow.
Drake had wagered the hefty sum on the outcome of the heavyweight clash between former champion Anthony Joshua and MMA boxer Francis Ngannou, tipping the latter to win.

Davido taunts Drake
In response to Drake’s pre-match betting slip shared on his Instagram account, where he backed Ngannou to defeat Joshua, Davido couldn’t resist poking fun at the rapper’s significant loss.
”Ur ticket don cut”, the afro-beats crunner commented.

Interestingly, Drake had previously enjoyed a betting triumph in March 2023 when he bet on Nigerian fighter Israel Adesanya to beat Alex Pereira at UFC 287, winning a substantial $2.7 million after Adesanya claimed the middleweight title.
