Earlier this month, rumors circulated that some Manchester United players confronted Rasmus Hojlund over an interview he conducted, but the Denmark international has now responded to the allegations.
Hojlund, who had been in fine form at the start of 2024 with seven goals in seven matches before sustaining a muscle injury, had engaged in an interview with ‘The United Stand,’ a Manchester United fan channel.
However, reports emerged suggesting that a couple of his teammates questioned his decision to speak with a channel known for its critical stance towards players.

Hojlund blast unfounded claims
Addressing the claims, Rasmus dismissed them as “fake news,” asserting that he had not faced any reprimand from his teammates regarding the interview. In an interview with Tipsbladet, he stated, “I haven’t been told anything, so it’s fake news.
I haven’t read anything about it, but it’s definitely not true that I have been told that I can’t do an interview with one fan media or another.”
Mark Goldbridge, the host of The United Stand, defended the interview, refuting suggestions that the Manchester United forward had faced backlash from his fellow players.

Goldbridge emphasized that the interview was conducted with the club’s knowledge and approval, indicating that it was not conducted in defiance of any team rules.
Goldbridge stated, “This interview was hand-in-hand with the club and the player. This interview was aware of by everyone at Man United, from top to bottom, and it took months.
So if these players didn’t want it to happen they could have stopped it at any point.”
Hojlund’s return to action against Liverpool showcased his resilience and commitment to the team despite the recent controversy.

He played a significant role in United’s thrilling 4-3 victory over their rivals, lasting 71 minutes on the pitch before being substituted.
His performance, alongside the winning goal scored by Amad Diallo, contributed to United’s advancement to the semi-finals.
The incident highlights the scrutiny and speculation surrounding players’ interactions with media outlets, particularly those known for their critical coverage of the club.
Earlier reports by Sports Buddy claims that Hojlund sat down for an interview with ‘The United Stand,’ discussing topics ranging from his goalscoring form to his experiences living in Manchester.
The Manchester United forward has hit impressive form in the Premier League for Man United, scoring in six consecutive matches to help the Red Devils.
Rasmus Hojlund has scored in other competitions, with the striker having now scored 13 goals in 30 appearances in his debut season at the club.
