Flying Eagles and Super Eagles forward Uche Nwofor was assaulted by military personnel in Onitcha according to randafooty_disfootbalsef on Instagram.
The post read, ”Former Flying Eagles and @ng_supereagles forward Uche Nwafor was assaulted in Onitsha by soldiers who sat him down and cut off his dreadlocks.
”What a country. @uchenwofor even identified himself but the power drunk touts didn’t listen to him.

Nwofor’s International career

Nwofor played for the Nigeria under-20 squad in April 2011; he scored four goals in five games to end as the tournament’s top goal scorer. Nigeria won a sixth continental title in Johannesburg, and Nwofor was awarded the Goal.com player of the week.
During the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia in August 2011, Nwofor played for Nigeria. He scored two goals in six minutes after coming off the bench against Croatia, making an immediate impression. However, in a thrilling 3–2 quarterfinal match, France eliminated Nigeria.
Nwofor was called up by the Nigerian national team in July 2013 for an August 14 international friendly match in Durban against South Africa.In the 49th and 68th minutes, he scored twice, helping Nigeria win 2-0.
In Nigeria’s opening 2014 World Cup warm-up match against a strong Scotland team, Nwofor scored a late equalizer to save Nigeria’s blushes. The game finished 2-2. Three days later, Nwofor was named to the World Cup roster.
