Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo was subjected to yet another frustrating chant in support of Lionel Messi during Al-Hilal’s Saudi Kings Cup final.
Ronaldo’s hopes of winning the King’s Cup to cap off his incredible individual performance were crushed when the Knights of Najd fell short against their local rivals on penalties.
With 35 goals, the 39-year-old set the Saudi Pro League record for most goals scored in a single season. He also made history by being the first football player to finish as the top scorer in four separate leagues. as previously reported by Sports Buddy.
Only Cristiano Ronaldo Can! 7 Incredible records held by no other footballer except CR7
Ronaldo’s outstanding performance was not enough to secure victory for his team against nine-man Al-Hilal, who eventually emerged winners to defeat Luis Castro’s men 5-4 on penalties
Al-Nassr suffered a costly loss as former Manchester United full-back Alex Telles, defender Ali Al Hassan, and Saudi sensation Meshari Al Nemer all missed their opportunities from the penalty spot.
The disappointing defeat to Al-Hilal after the penalty shootout left Cristiano Ronaldo in uncontrollable tears, as this meant he would finish the campaign without a trophy.

Neymar Jnr since joining Al-Hilal
Neymar joined Al-Hilal on a two-year deal after six years with Paris St. Germain. The deal was reported to be around 90 million euros ($98.24 million) plus add-ons and subject to a medical for the Brazilian forward.
A season marred by an ACL injury has seen him sidelined for majority of the season, which has seen him play just five games for the Saudi Pro League champions.
