Messi’s tournament has been affected by a muscle problem which saw him miss the group stage match against Peru.
Nonetheless, he has been able to score one goal and make one assist in the tournament, both in different games against Canada.
Meanwhile Sportsbuddy earlier reported that Lionel Messi might be retiring soon, he said, “Yes, I am aware that these are the last battles… I am enjoying them to the fullest. It’s not easy to be in a final again, we need to enjoy, enjoy every moment,” he said to D Sports Radio.
Concerning fitness issues, Messi noted, “With Canada, I felt very good physically. . . In the last match [against Canada], I lost my fear, I will feel better for the final”
Career Milestones and Retirement Talks
At 37, Messi is now approaching the end of his playing days but has not yet stated that he will be retiring from the international football after Copa America.
