Pep Guardiola has weighed into the 2024 Ballon d’Or subject, backing Manchester City star Rodri to win the award.
The Spanish midfielder was instrumental in helping City win the Premier League for the fourth time in a row. He then shown his talent on the international scene by assisting Spain in winning Euro 2024.
Sports Buddy reported that the 28-year-old currently leads the race following his Euro 2024 triumph with Spain.

And now Guardiola has expressed his desire to see Rodri, his player at Manchester City and fellow countryman, win this year’s Ballon d’Or award.
“I saw Spain and he was at the level he has been playing at for a long time. He was dependable. Ferran [Torres], Aymeric Laporte, and Rodri were all together, and I’m glad for them,” Guardiola said At a news conference held in North Carolina, per The Mirror.
“There are a few candidates for the Ballon d’Or. [From] Real Madrid, Manchester City … I can’t deny how happy he would be. To be in the race is fantastic for him, his family, friends and of course Manchester City. We are so proud,” he added.
Guardiola is not the only one backing Rodri to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or award.
