Post-Copa America Break

Martinez is on a break after contributing towards Argentina’s victory in the Copa America where they beat Colombia.

He has not participated in any Manchester United pre-season tour due to his holiday.

At United, the defender has had a tough spell in England due to injuries that saw him play only 14 matches in all competitions in the last campaign.

Despite his injury woes, Martinez made a crucial return for the FA Cup final, where he started in Manchester United’s victory over Manchester City.

Martinez revealed in a previous report from SportsBuddy that Lionel Messi isn’t considering international retirement yet.

Speaking to ESPN during the Copa America, Martinez said, “He’s very calm, more than anything he’s enjoying the day-to-day. It’s beautiful to be here, we all have a great relationship. When one is here, one is very happy. We feel at home, which is important. We don’t see it [as his last tournament with Argentina].

Lisandro Martinez has won at least one trophy every season since coming to Europe in 2019.
