Ex-France international, Robert Pires has stirred controversy by stating that Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku is better than Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka.
In an interview with Wettbasis, Pires admitted that Saka has become an important figure in the Arsenal team managed by Mikel Arteta but noted that he needs to make significant progress in defining matches.
Saka’s Importance to Arsenal
Saka has been instrumental to Arsenal, particularly in the past two seasons in the Premier League title races.
But, as a member of the ‘Invincibles’ squad Pires is confident that the 19-year-old can step up his level again and do much better in terms of handling pressure situations.
In a recent report from Sportsbuddy, recent heaped praise on Bukayo Saka comparing him to Lionel Messi.

“Bukayo still needs that level of consistency and experiential quality, especially when it comes to performance during important matches,” Pires said.
Doku’s Edge Over Saka
In contrast, Pires complimented Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku, saying the Belgian winger has more balanced abilities.
He pointed out as to why he preferred Doku over the other players by asserting; “Jeremy Doku from Manchester City is better because he is technically more endowed, possess a great dribbling style and is more creative. ”
Pires wanted Saka to show his improvement throughout the season, especially in the Champions League.
