The midfielder was involved in a collision with Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey in the incident-filled game, which also saw Leandro Trossard sent off.
Rodri had initially suffered a brutal hit from Kai Havertz barely eight seconds into the game but appeared to be fine after receiving treatment.
However, Partey’s hit would then see the Spaniard exit the game in the first half and now it’s been confirmed that the Euro 2024 MVP award winner would be sidelined for the rest of the season.
Fotmob’s confirmation comes after the Gunners’ fans prematurely celebrated the horrific injury.
Arsenal fans, had pettily expressed excitement over the seemingly severe injury, in anticipation of it’s confirmation.
This news comes as a huge blow to Pep Guardiola as he is set to miss one of his most important players for the rest of the season.
