Victor Osimhen’s long wait for his first goal for Galatasaray has come to an end as the 25-year-old striker got his name on the score sheet against Kasımpaşa on Saturday evening.
The Nigerian international, who recently secured a loan deal with the Turkish side, failed to find the back of the net in his first three appearances for the Asian, but has now opened his account for his new club with a brace against fellow Super Eagles defender Keneth Omeruo’s side.
Victor Osimhen brace
Osimhen, who recently set a personal record after registering an assist in each of his three games for Galatasaray, finally moved from provider to scorer.
The reigning African Men’s Player of the Year got on the end of a sublime half-space cross from Abdülkerim Bardakcı to execute a composed finish in the 20th minute.
The former Lille man would then complete his brace in spectacular fashion after sending in a venomous left-footed half-volley, leaving the Kasimpasa goalkeeper helpless.

This follows the Super Eagles striker’s one-on-one meeting with the club’s president, Dursun Özbek, where he expressed appreciation for what could be described as a ‘career-saving’ transfer after a turbulent transfer window.
Having extended his gratitude to on-field actions with an impressive brace, Osimhen will hope to maintain this form as he settles into the club.
