Nigeria Super Falcons talent Edna Imade has sealed a remarkable move to FC Bayern Munich Frauen, signing a contract that will keep her at the German club until 2029.
The 24-year-old forward, who excelled with Spanish club Granada last season, was officially announced by the German champions on Tuesday, 15 July 2025.
Imade is originally from Benin City, Nigeria, but born and raised in Seville, Spain, and has been gradually establishing herself in European football, getting to one of the continent’s top clubs.

Her arrival is timed with a celebratory period for Bayern Munich, who have just achieved a historic double with their men’s and women’s sides winning the respective leagues. Although she has signed a long-term contract with the German club, Imade will be set to spend the next season on loan at Spanish side Real Sociedad as part of her ongoing development.
Speaking on Bayern Munich’s official website, Imade was effusive in her praise:
> “I am thrilled and honored to have signed my contract with FC Bayern Women. With its history, the club is one of the world’s biggest and most important clubs. This signing is one of the biggest in my career and shows that my hard work is paying off.”
She also added that she is versatile in attack:
I am capable of playing either as a center forward or on the wings. I would say that I am strong in the air and in finishing, and I am also a total team player who gives everything to the team on the field.
Although she is no longer a member of the current Super Falcons squad playing at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, Imade remains Nigeria’s future beaming light, with mounting pressure for her to don the country’s national colors.
Since her move to Bayern, Edna Imade is now a part of an elite class of Nigerian footballers writing history in top-flight European football, and time can only tell what the future holds for her.
