Liverpool have confirmed that Dutch right-back Jeremie Frimpong has suffered a hamstring injury that will sideline him until after the international break in September.

The news comes as a major setback for Arne Slot, who has been counting on the 23-year-old’s pace and attacking flair since his arrival at Anfield.

Manager Arne Slot revealed the update after training, noting that the medical team has advised Frimpong to undergo rehabilitation rather than risk aggravating the injury.

“Jeremie has a hamstring issue and will be out until after the September international break. It’s disappointing, but we don’t want to take risks at this stage of the season,” Slot said.

What It Means for Liverpool

Frimpong’s absence leaves Liverpool short of options in the right-back position. The injury is particularly untimely as Liverpool face a packed schedule leading into September, with crucial Premier League fixtures and European commitments on the horizon.

Frimpong, who joined this summer, had quickly become a fan favorite thanks to his explosive runs down the flank. Liverpool supporters will be hoping the setback is only temporary and that Frimpong returns fully fit after the break.
