According to Fabrizio Romano, Napoli have reached an agreement with Manchester United to sign Danish striker Rasmus Højlund on loan, with an option to buy. The deal includes a €6 million loan fee for the 2024/25 season, plus a €44 million buy option that will become mandatory if Napoli qualify for the UEFA Champions League in the 2025/26 campaign.

Højlund reportedly accepted Napoli’s project several days ago and is now set to travel for medical tests within the next 24 hours. The 21-year-old striker has been seeking regular game time, and Napoli’s ambitious sporting project under Antonio Conte convinced him to make the switch.
United Move for Sesko Clears the Way
Manchester United’s recent signing of Slovenian forward Benjamin Šeško paved the way for Højlund’s temporary exit. Despite flashes of brilliance at Old Trafford, United’s tactical shift meant the Dane was no longer guaranteed a starting role. Napoli, however, see him as a key figure to spearhead their attack in Serie A and beyond.
Conte, who demanded a new striker, will now have Højlund as part of his frontline plans, adding more firepower to Napoli’s bid to reclaim domestic glory and compete strongly in Europe.
