BREAKING: Chelsea Reach Agreement To Sign Joao Felix From Atletico Madrid

Chelsea have confirmed that they have agreed on a deal to sign Portuguese forward Joao Felix on a permanent transfer from Atletico Madrid according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.

The 24-year-old will join the club after agreeing on the terms of the deal which will see him sign a six-year contract with a possible one-year extension.

This move goes a long way in enhancing the attacking prowess of Chelsea as they seek to strengthen their team.

Background and Previous Stints

Joao Felix previously spent the second half of the 2022-2023 season at Chelsea fc where he scored four goals in 20 appearances.

In the 2023/2024 season, he was transferred to Barcelona where he contributed 10 goals and six assists in 44 games.

However, Felix had these loan spells while he was under contract with Atletico Madrid, which he renewed until June 2029 before transferring to Barcelona.

The Portuguese moved to Atletico Madrid from Benfica in 2019 for €126 million, Felix has managed to score 34 goals in 131 matches for the Spanish club.

He has also represented Portugal at the international level making 61 appearances and scoring three goals in various competitions including the European Championship.

Chelsea’s Busy Transfer Window

Joao Felix will join Pedro Neto as the latest acquisitions by the club as reported earlier for the former by Sportsbuddy.

Joao Felix will be Chelsea’s ninth signing of the summer transfer window after securing Tosin Adarabioyo, Omari Kellyman, Marc Guiu, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Renato Veiga, Caleb Wiley and Aaron Anselmino.
