Nigeria’s young football talent Christantus Uche has rejected an offer to join Wolves despite the English club agreeing a €20m transfer fee with Getafe.

Wolves had high hopes of sealing the transfer. Medical checks were being planned in England as the club looked to recover from two straight league losses and the sale of key forward Matheus Cunha to Manchester United.

However, close sources reveal that Uche was not eager to join the Midlands side.

The player has often spoken about playing in England, but he believes Wolves do not match his long-term vision.

Nigerian transfer insider Buchi Laba confirmed that Uche will not finalise the move despite the agreement between the two clubs.

The decision has now opened the door to interest from Italy. AC Milan have spoken with Getafe regarding possible terms though no official offer has been made.

Meanwhile, Serie A newcomers Como are also pushing to bring Uche to their exciting project.

Como gained promotion last season and impressed with a top-ten finish in their first year back in the top division.

The club is backed by the Hartono brothers, two of the richest businessmen in Indonesia. They have invested heavily through the Djarum Group.

Former Arsenal and Chelsea star Cesc Fàbregas is also involved with the club and has worked closely with French legend Thierry Henry.

Both hold minority stakes, adding more attraction to the project.

Other Suitors Add Pressure

Crystal Palace are also considering a late move. Reports in England suggest the club is in search of more attacking quality after selling Eberechi Eze to Arsenal. This potential bid could increase competition for the Nigerian’s signature and put pressure on Getafe to decide quickly.

Uche’s first season in La Liga caught attention across Europe. He scored four goals and provided six assists in thirty three appearances. His performances showed promise and hinted at bigger opportunities ahead.

For now, the 22 year old remains a Getafe player. No final decision has been made on his next move but interest is growing fast. Clubs in Italy and England are watching closely as the summer window reaches a critical stage.
