Real Madrid forward Rodrygo paid homage to his idol Cristiano Ronaldo by mimicking his iconic celebration after scoring in a thrilling 3-3 Champions League draw against Manchester City.
The first leg of the Champions League quarter-final was a goal-fest, with both teams trading blows throughout the match.
Manchester City took an early lead, but Real Madrid battled back with an own goal from Ruben Dias and a strike from Rodrygo.

The Real Madrid Attacker’s deflected effort found the back of the net in the 14th minute, putting Real Madrid ahead. To celebrate, he recreated Ronaldo’s signature “Siu” celebration.

After the match, Rodrygo spoke about how Ronaldo has inspired him throughout his career.
“I constantly watch clips of Cristiano,” The Brazilian told TNT Sports BR. “Sometimes I even watch them before matches to get motivated. He’s the player who came to mind when I scored, so I celebrated like him.”
The Madrid attacker continued, explaining how watching Ronaldo play in the Champions League during his childhood left a lasting impression. “He’s my idol, my hero. So it feels good to celebrate in his way to show my appreciation.”

While The Brazilian’s goal gave Real Madrid the lead, Manchester City clawed their way back with stunning goals from Phil Foden and Josko Gvardiol.
