Wolves interrupted a 15-year-old student’s science lesson on Friday, potentially in preparation for him to confront Arsenal on Saturday night.

Okoduwa set to become Wolves’ youngest player to play in the EPL

Right-back Wes Okoduwa, aged 15 years and 344 days, stands to become the youngest player for the club if he participates. His debut would also mark him as the Premier League’s second-youngest player.

Renowned as one of England’s most promising talents in his age category, Okoduwa has attracted interest from Manchester United and has already showcased his skills for Wolves’ Under-21s team.

Manager’s Perspective

Wolves manager Gary O’Neil expressed hope that Okoduwa enjoyed his time with the team more than he would have in science class, highlighting the player’s readiness for the match despite his young age. He acknowledged the challenging team situation but found positivity in the opportunity for young players to feature against Arsenal.

“I hope he’s had more fun with us than he would have in science!

“He’s ready for the game. He’s trained very well, he’s physically very good.

“It’s probably slightly too early in his development but it’s the situation we’re in.”

O’Neil added: “I’ve got ten senior outfield players that can start. We’re probably in the worst situation we’ve been in.

“But the positive is there are loads of young players involved against Arsenal.

“There might be a debut or two from the start for some of the younger lads. Some of those on the bench I don’t know too well, if I’m honest.

“They’ve been training with the academy more than with us but they were with us today,” he said as per The Sun.

Meanwhile, Sports Buddy reported that Wolves defender Matt Doherty has issued a strong warning. “We’ve taken plenty of big scalps this season,” Doherty said, hinting at Wolves’ potential to upset the Gunners’ title hopes.”
