Real Madrid has taken action by offering midfielder Toni Kroos a new contract in an effort to keep him around for longer.
Kroos returns to national team
Kroos, who recently announced his return to the German national team, has been offered a new contract by the Spanish giants, who are looking to extend the midfielder’s stay beyond his current contract, which ends in June 2024.
With his time at the club coming to an end, the 34-year-old midfielder has already received offers from some clubs.
”Real Madrid keep hoping for Toni Kroos to stay and continue for one more season, as their formal contract proposal has been already prepared.
”It’s up to Toni but his return to German national team for the Euros is considered a positive signal”, as reported by Fabrizio Romano on X.
Meanwhile, fellow club midfielder Luka Modric will see his contract expire this summer. Things are already looking set for the Croatian, as it is reported that the club may not offer the veteran midfielder a new contract, which might see Modric make a move elsewhere.
Real Madrid manager offers Modric deal
Reports claim that Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has offered the veteran midfielder the opportunity to join his coaching staff should he decide to hang up his boots at the end of the season.
Saudi Arabian clubs are also in this situation, as they are keeping tabs on Kroos and Modric, who both are running out of their respective contracts.
