Chelsea have been slammed for a message deemed ’embarrassing’ sent ahead of the Euro 2024 final clash between England and Spain.
The Blues have three players featuring in the final on Sunday, with Cole Palmer and Conor Gallagher representing England, while Marc Cucurella will be playing for Spain.
Chelsea’s message ahead of Euro 2024 final
However, the club appears to back Cucurella and Spain over England in the Euro 2024 final, following a post made on social media, which has generated lots of criticisms from fans.
The 25-year-old left back took everyone by storm with his performance in the tournament, having come off a disappointing campaign with Chelsea. So far, he has featured in all of Spain’s games and has been been a key figure in their run to the final.
With Cucurella in the final with Spain, Chelsea decided to post a good-luck message on the club’s social media account for the Spaniard first, which seems strange, coming from an English club.
Next stop, Berlin. Cucu’s on fire, Europe’s right wingers are terrified. Our Spanish left-back has been a standout performer at the Euros. Tidy on the ball, combative off it. pic.twitter.com/3hTFZQpIn5

Fans react to situation
This act has drawn criticisms from England fans on social media, as many saw it as an embarrassing act.
One fan wrote, “Fold the whole club. Meant to be an English club.”
Another commented, “Weird club, man. How you posting this as an English club?”
A third added, “Chelsea’s social media is honestly embarrassing. Not saying that cus they’re supporting Cucurella here more the way they write their posts.”
Chelsea, however, did eventually posted messages to Palmer and Gallagher, in a similar fashion reminiscent of Cucurella’s, as the Three Lions prepare of the final on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Sports Buddy recently reported about Spanish teenage sensation Lamine Yamal’s birthday wish ahead of the Euro 2024 final.
