Kylian Mbappe’s Twitter account was hacked, and controversial messages were posted.
The hackers posted tweets using Kylian Mbappe’s Twitter/X account in a cryptocurrency scam called the ‘MBAPPE’ token, making football fans giddy with tweets about a possible switch to Manchester United and incendiary comments in the Ronaldo vs. Messi controversy.
Misleading Posts and Fake Announcements
The unauthorised tweets started with “Manchester is Red,” which is associated with Manchester United, and then a supportive message to a famous fan account named @UTDTrey.
The hacker even took the liberty of stating that Mbappe was going to join Manchester United in the summer of the year 2028 in the sentence going to @ManUtd 2028 LET’S RUN IT UP ON A FREE TRANSFERRRR.

To stir up another controversy within football fans, the hacker subtly branded Cristiano Ronaldo as the greatest player in the world and, on a side note, disparaged Lionel Messi.
In a previous report from Sportsbuddy, Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez’s Instagram account was hacked, causing stir among fans.
Cryptocurrency Scam Causes Market Disruption

Probably one of the worst things was the creation of the ‘MBAPPE’ token as a result of the hack.
According to the Centredevils, the fluorinated cryptocurrency peaked to the tens of millions of its market value only to plummet and reach a worth of zero.
Initial reports suggest that some users were able to make a quick buck out of the boom; one trader bought Ether for £216 and sold it for $151,500, only for the investment to plummet in value shortly after.
Public Reaction To Hacked Kylian Mbappe’s Account

This led to a myriad of reactions online, with many people being shocked and objecting to Mbappe’s public relations agency. Implicit reactions are observed from a specific user who asked where his PR team is, stating that such actions are unsuitable; others posted, ‘Where the —- is his PR team, this is unacceptable.’
Due to the massive engagement, many of the posts were deleted, but not without raising even more complaints and tensions through the social media platforms.
It becomes clear that social media accounts indeed pose the possibility of hacking, especially the accounts belonging to celebrities such as Mbappe, and the dangerous consequences of hacking that can lead to manipulation and spreading of wrong information, which can also affect the financial markets.
