Super Falcons Find Out Latest Fifa Ranking After Poor Olympic Outing

After a poor outing in the just concluded Olympics in Paris, Nigeria’s women football team, the Super Falcons have retained their 36th position globally in the new FIFA Women’s world ranking released by FIFA on August 16, 2024.

Top African Teams in the Rankings

On the African side, Nigeria’s women Senior team popularly called Super Falcons comes first in the list while South Africa’s Banyana Banyana comes second in the 50th position.

The rest of the top five African countries involved are Morocco, Zambia, and Ghana.

Zambia has seen a positive shift in their ranking, moving up to 62nd, despite their struggles in Paris.

South Africa and Tunisia have also been upgraded with Banyana Banyana taking the 50th position while Tunisia taking the latest 58th position.

Global Rankings and Olympic Impact

Internationally, the United States has regained op spot by clinching the Olympic gold medal as reported by Sportsbuddy.

The silver has given Brazil the 8th position which was quite an achievement. Spain which has performed well is now at third position while England is now second.

Germany and Sweden completes the Top 5. The next FIFA Women’s World Ranking is scheduled to come out on December 20, 2024.
