Arsenal teams were easy for me to bully under Wenger but this current team is different – Troy

I competed against numerous Arsenal players who would have effortlessly secured spots in Mikel Arteta’s present Gunners squad.

While Arteta’s team may lack the technical brilliance of past sides, they compensate for it with their spirit.

During their prime, Jack Wilshere, Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were all considered world-class players.

However, those Arsenal teams were often ones you felt confident facing, ones you could overpower and ones that were prone to crumbling under pressure.

It’s widely recalled that I once criticized Arsene Wenger’s team for lacking “cojones” after my Watford side defeated them at Vicarage Road.

Troy Deeney sees a different Arsenal

Troy Deeney says he used to bully Arsenal and made famous dig at Wenger’s team – they always fell apart but this group have cojones.

According to thesun, Troy Deeney said: I certainly cannot imagine taking the p*** out of this Gunners team in the same way. I wouldn’t rate my chances of bullying them, either.

Arteta was a fierce competitor during his playing days, and his current team embodies the same level of determination he exhibited.

However, it’s notable that not all of his former teammates shared the same level of passion and desire.

It’s a remarkable testament to Arteta’s leadership that he has forged an Arsenal team with a greater sense of unity and resilience compared to the sides he once played in, even though those teams may have possessed superior technical abilities in several aspects.

This team has achieved an impressive feat of winning seven consecutive league games, finding the net 31 times while only conceding three goals. Additionally, they have outscored every other Premier League team this season.

Despite their recent impressive performances, including their dominant display against Sheffield United where they led 5-0 at halftime on Monday night, I still believe they will finish a close third behind Manchester City and Liverpool.

Indeed, this Arsenal side has shown versatility in their ability to secure victories in various ways. Against the Blades, albeit one of the weakest Premier League teams in history, they simply outclassed and outplayed their opponents.

But Arsenal also have an outstanding record from set-pieces. They are a big, strong side with a psychology to match their physicality.
